The awards - from The Times, The Sunday Times, HSBC, Bloomberg and Google – are recognised as the industry benchmarks and follow a rigorous selection procedure and interview process judged by industry heavyweights including the Property Ombudsman and representatives from ARLA, the National Federation of Property Professionals and Google’s Head of Property.
In October 2011, we were named the Best UK Letting Agency, after winning five stars as the Best London Letting Agency, by the UK Property Awards which are held in association with Bloomberg Television and Google.
Young London Named Lettings Agency of the Year at UK Property Awards
The results of the UK Property Awards put a chosen few leading companies firmly in the limelight, both nationally and internationally.
Young London is one of the proud winners after being awarded five stars in the Lettings Agency category. We were later named overall UK winner at the ceremony on Friday 28 October. The United Kingdom’s premier estate agents gathered at The Lancaster London Hotel, Hyde Park, for the announcement of the winners of the hotly contested UK Property Awards in association with Bloomberg Television and Google.
The competition, established 17 years ago, is the world’s most prestigious property awards and cover residential as well as commercial categories. Judging is carried out through a meticulous process involving a panel of over 80 experts and covering every aspect of the property business.
President of the International Property Awards, Stuart Shield, says, “I enjoy having the chance to meet some of the UK’s finest estate agents who, in spite of facing real market challenges, have been able not only to meet them but also to excel over them.”
Neil Young, CEO of Young London and Young Group, says of the awards: “It’s fantastic that our focus on customer service has been recognised once again, particularly at such a high level, and comes hot on the heels of having secured Business of the Year, Best Business for Innovation and Best Small Business accolades from HSBC earlier this summer.
“The Young London team is rewarded via customer service bonuses rather than on transaction commissions; being a finalist in the UK Property Awards is additional proof that it’s an innovative approach to business that reaps rewards.”
Young London Takes Top Business Award from HSBC and SLB
Being awarded three prestigious Business Awards from HSBC is particularly pleasing. It’s proof that our customer service focused approach stands up to scrutiny across all business sectors, having gone head-to-head with companies of all sizes from sectors including financial services, retail, engineering, logistics, hospitality and catering.
The judges praised Young London’s internal and external approach to customer service; “Young London impressed by turning on its head the traditional business model of their sector. Sales staff are rewarded based on customer satisfaction, not commission. The commitment to making clients feel welcome both in their new homes and in their neighbourhoods is second to none.”
Summing up, Carole Bagnald, Regional Commercial Director: London, for HSBC, presenting Young London with their Business of the Year award, said the bank was passionate about the need to support small to medium sized businesses, like Young London, as the ‘business leaders of the future’ and that Young London will be a strong ambassador for South London’s business community.
Young London Scoops a Hat Trick at the Sunday Times Awards 2011!
The team was exceptionally proud to win not one, but three awards at The Times and Sunday Times sponsored Letting Agent of the Year Awards this year. The judges were particularly impressed by our focus on customer service, highlighting that “from the first minute one encounters this agency, there is a clear differentiation between it and its local competitors.” and that “By employing people who understand about service they drown beneath flattering feedback from grateful clients and happy tenants”. As well as scooping an award for the business as a whole this year the independent judging panel recognised our commitment to providing enhanced levels of service through innovation and communication with a further two awards, saying “Young London’s mantra is to build strong relationships with clients and deliver ‘amazing’ service which it monitors by polling clients on a weekly basis and places a great deal of emphasis on researching information so they can pass on sound advice to landlords and tenants.”
Summing up, the judging panel declared us “A highly capable and professional agency.” We couldn’t be more delighted.
Young London Scoops A Bloomberg UK Property Award, 2010!
More great news for Young London’s tenants and landlords as the team picks up another award! This time it’s a Bloomberg UK Property Award in the Best Letting Agent category, in recognition of the great service, marketing and innovation that Young London provides.

Just over 6 months after scooping Gold as the UK’s Best Small Lettings Agent, Young London received another national accolade from The Times and Sunday Times.
This recognition is for the quality of our marketing - not just how we market ourselves, but also how we market Landlords’ properties. Competing with companies of all sizes from throughout the UK, Young London scooped a well-earned silver medal and received some great feedback from the judges:

You’re SAFE With Young London
This new consumer kitemark initiative was driven by Young London and a small group of other like-minded lettings agents who believe that the industry needed to find a simple, effective way to communicate to consumers the benefit of using an agent that has Client Money Protection (CMP). SAFE represents agents who have volunteered to be part of CMP schemes that protect landlords’ and tenants’ money, such as those operated by NALS and RICS. Find out more about SAFE agents.
