About the Area:
N7 has a vast and diverse range of shops, bars, restaurants, entertainment and leisure facilities. Along Holloway Road is a thriving, colourful shopping centre, where you will be able to find a selection of well known high street stores, as well as independent retailers and fine eateries. The vibrant area also plays host to the renowned Columbia Road flower market and Nags Head market set in an old style market hall.
N7 is home to the vibrant hub of Camden Town too. Renowned for its bohemian culture, it offers its hugely popular markets, shops, cafes and eclectic nightlife. The markets, including Camden Lock, Buck Street and the historic Stables Markets are the area’s biggest draw and make up London’s fourth most popular visitor attraction. What’s more, on weekends, the whole of Camden High Street is turned into a huge market, with a patchwork of hundreds of stalls selling clothes, crafts, bric-a- brac and food; attracting roughly 100,000 people each week.
Extending from Limehouse Basin to the Grand Union Canal, Regents Canal runs through Camden with a pleasant tow path that is popular with pedestrians and cyclists. A regular waterbus service operates from here, heading westwards around Regent’s Park, calling at London Zoo and on towards Little Venice. The Breakfast Television Centre, formerly home to TV-am, is also located on Regents Canal in Camden. Converted from Henley’s Garage, the building has retained its iconic facade, complete with large plastic egg cups on the roof, and today is home to MTV’s European operations.
Regeneration centred around Kings Cross, which borders the southern fringe of N7, has led to the arrival of many more hotels, restaurants, and cultural venues and there is also substantial business activity and residential accommodation in the area.
Transport
N7 boasts excellent transport links; Caledonian Road and Holloway Road tube stations are on the Piccadilly line, providing quick links into the heart of the West End (Piccadilly Circus in 11 mins) and extending as far as Heathrow Terminal 5. The area is also well served by buses with regular services to Euston, London Bridge, Camden and the West End, among many routes serving the city 24 hours a day. Kings Cross and St Pancras International station, with the Eurostar terminus, are a short 4 minute tube journey from Caledonian Road and provide a quick and convenient escape from the city serving the country and continent alike! By car, Holloway Road (A1), York Way (A5200), Hornsey Road (A103) and Caledonian Road (A5203) provide quick routes out of the city.
