As industry bordering the River Thames in Wandsworth has moved out of the area, a number of luxury new riverside apartment developments have appeared, such as Dolphin House, Compass House and Bluewater House, located on Smugglers Way.

On the eastern border of SW18 is Old York Road.  As the former centre of Wandsworth, there is still a village feel about the area with a variety of property types, ranging from terraced, to larger semi-detached and some detached properties.

Typical of most London suburbs, neighbouring Earlsfield comprises mostly residential Victorian terraced houses with a high street of shops, bars, and restaurants between Garratt Lane, Allfarthing Lane, and Burntwood Lane.  Earlsfield is particularly popular with young professionals due to the close proximity of good schools and parks.

Transport:

Wandsworth Town railway station features fast services to London Waterloo running 8 times an hour and Earlsfield railway station also provides for quick journeys to Central London; Waterloo (via Clapham Junction and Vauxhall) in just 12 minutes and other areas in South London (Victoria - changing at Clapham Junction and Wimbledon in just one stop).
