This walk explores the old Surrey Docks area of Rotherhithe, which has seen extensive regeneration since the closure of the docks with a mix of new buildings and converted warehouses.

The route also takes you through the old heart of Rotherhithe village which was has a strong maritime past as an Elizabethan dock and a tight nit community of ship builders and sailors until the closure of the docks in 1970. The area around the church is a designated conservation area and the walk takes you through several fine areas of greenery that co-exist with the remnants of dockland industry.
