The Good Ship
Born on 2nd September 2005, The Good Ship is a live music venue, bar, nightclub and arts centre all rolled into one. Consider us an extension of your front room with a jukebox in. We are first and foremost a music bar and are actively committed to bringing the best bands to Kilburn and also using the space of The Good Ship as a place for the arts and entertainment. So we have DJs, bands, pop quiz, London’s freshest spoken word night, stand up comedy and anthing else interesting/innnovative that we come across or you suggest. Not karaoke though, no no no no no.
We sell a wide range of beers, wines and spirits and must be one of the few places in London that sells real ale after 11pm. Pride on tap and loads of ales in large bottles since you asked. We have a 100 cd juke box (including Kate Bush, Nick Cave, Stevie Wonder, Interpol and a load of Nuggets and Rough Trade compilations) and we change it regularly to keep it nice and fresh. Until the coin mechanism is fixed (probably never) it is also free. We have a massive screen on which we have all sorts of visuals from time to time too.
Opening hours: Mon - Thurs till 2am Fri - Sat till 4am. Sun till 2am. During the week we close the doors at 1130 to discourage the local loons from coming in but if you are reasonably normal just knock and we’ll let you in. Please note that although we are open til 4am at the weekend last entry is at 2am.
We say no to alcopops, fruit machines, change on a plate. We say yes to real ales, customers of all (legal) ages and enjoying a friendly, non pretentious atmosphere.
