The Mayflower
One of the most famous and historic pubs on the river, Rotherhithe’s Mayflower is a must for any self-respecting pub aficionado. Dating back to 1620, The Mayflower boasts a bagful of history, named after the ship that set sail from a nearby quay, taking the Pilgrim Fathers to America. The pub has a wonderfully old atmosphere and plenty of charm with oak beams, wooden panelling and a host of nautical bric a brac reflecting the area’s maritime past.
Set right on the river, the pub has its own jetty where you can enjoy your pint to the backdrop of great Thames views. However, with the colder weather fast approaching, the high backed sofas, cosy snugs and coal fires provide a welcoming alternative!
The pub offers a selection of Greene King ales, a great selection of pub food and a cracking Sunday lunch! Altogether, The Mayflower provides a relaxed place to enjoy an afternoon and soak in the historical atmosphere of the area.
