Most of SE1 is within the London Borough of Southwark, but a small area to the west is in Lambeth. SE1 includes the riverside Southbank Centre, famous for its cultural attractions, and stretches east to cover Shad Thames and part of Bermondsey. SE1 includes all of the area around the southern approach to London Bridge, known as Borough and extends south to Elephant & Castle.

Transport

In Zone 1, Elephant & Castle is incredibly well served by fast direct transport links.  The Southbank and Waterloo station are within walking distance and just 300m from Strata, Bakerloo and Northern Line London Underground tube services run direct to the City (bank in 5 minutes) and the heart of the West End (Oxford Circus in 11 minutes).

First Capital Connect train services to City Thameslink (6 minutes) and Kings Cross Thameslink (29 minutes).  Plus more than 30 bus routes pass through the centre of Elephant & Castle.
